We're excited to see the butterflies back in our front garden. Last fall Tim and N. spent a lot of time identifying and learning about butterflies, and I am pleased to see how much N. remembers from this. He really enjoys observing them. This morning while we breakfasted on the patio we watched a trio of what N. informed me were silver-spotted skippers breakfast on the bee balm.

I am doing my best to ignore the phrase "breakfasted on the patio."
Are you objecting to my verb, or to my graciously Southern mode of life?
I had to write "breakfasted on the patio" in order to write "breakfast on the bee balm," which amused me mightily.
No, no, no! I am objecting to the fact that I have no patio on which to breakfast!
so nice!!
Mom and Kiddo: That's what I thought! I'm sorry that Brooklyn doesn't come with butterfly-filled patios. But it has other amenities I envy!
